Security of energy and minerals supply – political and economic aspects


The workshop was focused on the geopolitical and economic aspects of security of energy and minerals supply.

In particular the most discussed issues were the socio-economic impact of market competition, regulation and the effect of access to harmonized information on security of supply.

Additionally, the project results obtained thus were presented including some novelties:

  • - The harmonized INSPIRE compliant EuroGeoSource data model
  • - Live presentation of the EuroGeoSource portal, using the Cloud to assure stability and high speed performance
  • - The prototype of the EuroGeoSource ANDROID application, bringing mineral and energy data to your mobile device.


Representatives of major geo-energy suppliers (from within and outside EU), data harmonization organisations and EU stakeholders had been invited to this workshop.
